“El Rosal” (The Rosebush)

Albert Alabedra/Bárbara Martínez

SPANISH:

Qué bonito tu rosal

Con esa flores que toda la gente maravilla cuando pasa

Le toman fotos paran a mirarlo y oler el aromita

De los pétalos que solo los hay en este barrio

Solo tu calle, solo tu patio, solo tu casa

Da de entrada regalitos

No sé qué tienen tus manos

Que todo lo hace bonito

Flores pa ti, flores para mi

Flores pa toda la gente que pasa por aquí

Solo me interesa tu rosal

Y lo sabe la luna

Dormida o despierta

En la cocina, en la calle

Vestida o desnuda

La niña baila

De ida o de vuelta

Si hay tiempo o no hay tiempo

Cansada o feliz

La niña baila

Baila para ti

Solo tu calle…

Me quiere o no me quiere?

ENGLISH:

Your rosebush is so beautiful

With those roses that everyone looks at when they pass by

They take photos and stops to smell

The aroma of its petals that only exist in your neighborhood

Only your street, only your porch, only your house

Gives little gifts on your way in

I don’t know what your hands have

That they make everything beautiful

Flowers for you, flowers for me

Flowers for everyone who passes by

I’m only interested in your rosebush

And the moon knows it

Asleep or awake

In the kitchen, in the street

Dress or naked

The girl dances

Coming or going

If there’s time and if there’s no time

Tired or happy

The girls

Dances for you

Only your street…

He loves me, he loves me not…
